Seminar on Vigilance Awareness Week
 
A seminar was organized to  celebrate “Vigilance Awareness Week’’ by the N.S.S. Unit of M.G.N. College of Education in collaboration with Punjab and Sind Bank, Adarsh Nagar. The Chief guests of the occasion were Mr. Shantnoo, Bank Manager along with Officers Mr. Rajat and Ms. Navneet Kaur. The Chief Guest Mr. Shantnoo, Bank Manager was given floral welcome by the Principal of the college.
The theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week is “My Vision-Corruption Free India”.
While addressing Students, Mr. Shantnoo orated that the purpose of observing Vigilance Awareness Week is to educate the public at large about the corruption related practices and also educating them how to report about it.  He deliberated that it acts like a mass movement of involving people in saying no to corruption. He elaborated on the need to have basic awareness on the merits and demerits of monetary transactions, need to eradicate corruption, role of youth etc. He reminded everyone that one shouldn’t fall prey to attractions as that may land him/her eventually in jail.
On the occasion, officer Ms. Navneet, emphasized the need to educate all sections of society about malevolence impact of corruption on National Development. All the students, teaching and non teaching staff of the college took integrity pledge under the theme of ‘My Vision-Corruption Free India’ as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, which is being observed every year from 30th October to 4th November.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mrs. Neelu Jhanji enlightened the students and staff of the college about the evil effects of corruption on society and laid emphasis for fighting together against corruption. She illustrated the story of a crow which thought it was ugly, to remind us with the moral of to be contended with what we have.
