National Education Day


          To commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, ‘National Education Day’ was celebrated in the premises of M.G.N. College of Education, Jalandhar. On this occasion, students of the college Monika reflected upon the life and philosophy of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on Education, Gurpreet Kaur elaborated the relevance of educational philosophy of Azad in modern education system and Neha suggested the ways to improve the current education system. Jeevan and Navneet through their poems focused the role and importance of education. Through an enactment on the poem of Dr Meharban Singh, students conveyed the real aims of education in the utilitarian society where education is being commercialized. A documentary about education was also being prepared & presented by the students.

          Speaking on this occasion, Principal Mrs.Neelu Jhanji said that Natioanal Education Day is a significant day to show the importance and usefulness of education for the society. She also appealed the would be teachers to keep the old value system alive in the modern scenario by practicing discipline and control on senses and desires. Tanu Rana conducted the stage. The entire event was co-ordinated by Dr.Meharban Singh. Amongst others, Dr.Radha Arora, Dr.Sushil Kumar Singh, Dr.Ravjeet Kaur, Dr.Pooja Bhardwaj, Mrs.Gurpreet Kaur, Mrs.Shivani Gulati, Mrs.Daljeet Sheetak, Mrs.Sharan, Mrs.Sakshi Sharma, Mr.Maninder Pal Singh, Ms.Jaspreet Kaur and Dr.Viplove Kundra witnessed the event.
