Celebration of Teej


To welcome the onset of the monsoon season, Teej festival was celebrated in the premises of Montgomery Guru Nanak College of Education, Jalandhar by Art Clubofthe College. On this day students of the College dressed traditionally and sung Punjabi folk songs. They also celebrated month of Savan by dancing and took swings as a ritual for Teej. Students also played some fun games as well. To mark this day, Mehandi Competition for the students was organized in the College Premises. In this competition Anitastood first, Mansi got second position and Simranpreet Kaurbagged third position. The judgement of this competiton was done by Dr.Ravjeet Kaur and Mrs.Geetanjali Mittu.
On this occasion, Principal Mrs.Neelu Jhanji addressed the students by saying that festivals like Teej connect us with nature and its forces. She further added that celebration of festivals are important to give a meaningful boost to our lives, removing negativity and pressure and to fills it with joy and peace.

The entire event was coordinated by Mrs.Geetanjali Mittu. All the teachers and students witnessed the event.
